Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 30 June 2026
This policy explains how SlotsPod (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit slotspod.com. SlotsPod is an information and entertainment site: you can play free slot demos and read reviews and guides. We do not offer real-money gambling and we never take deposits or payment details. You can use most of the site — including playing every demo — without an account. Some optional features (saving favourites across devices, following studios and themes, and our weekly email) do involve a free account and are described below.
Who is responsible for your data
SlotsPod is the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@slotspod.com.
What we collect and why
We collect only what each feature needs:
| Data | When | Purpose | Lawful basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Analytics — pages viewed, device/browser, approximate region, on-page interactions | Every visit (subject to your cookie choice) | Understand usage and improve the site. Aggregated; we don’t build advertising profiles or sell data. | Consent (where required); otherwise legitimate interests in measuring our own site |
| Account — your email address, an optional display name, and a login session | Only if you create an account | Sign you in (passwordless magic link) and keep you signed in. | Legitimate interests / performance of the service you requested |
| Account country — the country your connection appears to come from (e.g. “GB”). We do not store your IP address or a precise location | Only if you create an account | Understand where our users are and, in future, tailor regional content (for example the weekly email). | Legitimate interests |
| Favourites & follows — game IDs you save and the studios/themes you follow | Favourites work on your device without an account; they sync to your account if you sign in. Follows need an account. | Show your saved games and personalise the weekly email. | Legitimate interests / consent (for the email use) |
| Play activity & ratings — which demos get played (signed out, this uses a pseudonymised daily code derived from your connection, deleted within 7 days — we do not store your IP), and any star ratings you give (ratings need an account) | When a demo starts playing; ratings only if you rate a game | Power our “most played”, “trending” and “top rated” charts from real player activity (published only as aggregate counts), and show your recently played and rated games on your account page. | Legitimate interests in ranking games by genuine popularity |
| Email & consent record — your email, a record of your opt-in (time, page, IP, browser) and unsubscribe state | Only if you opt in to the weekly email and confirm it | Send the weekly email and prove we had your consent. | Consent (PECR reg. 22); the audit record relies on legitimate interests / legal obligation |
We do not collect passwords (sign-in is passwordless) or any payment details, and we do not ask for your real name.
The weekly email (double opt-in)
Our weekly email about new free-slot demos is entirely optional and completely separate from accepting cookies — ticking a cookie banner never signs you up, and creating an account never signs you up either. You receive it only if you tick the opt-in box and then click a confirmation link we email you (“double opt-in”). That confirmation email is purely transactional and contains no marketing. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe and you can also manage it from your account preferences at any time. If you follow studios or themes, we use those follows to tailor what the email features; otherwise you get our general round-up of new demos.
Cookies & similar technologies
The site uses the following. Analytics cookies are set only with your consent where required (see “Your choices”).
| Provider | Purpose | Examples | Type / retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| SlotsPod (us) | Remembers your cookie choice and region, and — if you sign in — keeps you logged in. Strictly necessary. | sp_consent, sp_geo, __Host-session | Local storage / a session cookie (up to 30 days); ~24h for region |
| Google Analytics 4 (Google) | Measures site usage and traffic, distinguishing visitors and sessions. | _ga, _ga_* | Cookies, up to 2 years |
| Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) | Anonymised heatmaps and session replays to see how pages are used and find usability problems. | _clck, _clsk, CLID, MUID | Cookies, up to 1 year |
| SlotsLaunch (demo provider) | When you launch a game demo, it loads in an embedded player that may set its own cookies. | Set by slotslaunch.com | Per that provider’s policy |
Your choices
- EEA, UK & Switzerland: analytics cookies are off by default. We show a consent banner and set them only if you choose Accept. Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode, so nothing identifying is stored until you consent.
- United States: analytics is on by default, but you can opt out at any time via “Your Privacy Choices” in the footer. We also honour the Global Privacy Control browser signal automatically.
- Everywhere: use “Your Privacy Choices” in the footer to change your cookie decision whenever you like.
- The weekly email is separate from cookies: unsubscribe with one click in any email, or from your account preferences.
- You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on, and clear or block cookies in your browser settings.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of trusted providers (“processors”), each under its own terms:
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and our database (the platform the site and your account run on).
- Google (Google Analytics) and Microsoft (Clarity) — analytics.
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES) — sends our transactional sign-in and weekly email.
- SlotsLaunch — supplies the embedded demo games.
We do not otherwise share, rent or sell your information.
International transfers
Some of these providers (notably Google, Microsoft and Amazon SES) may process data in the United States and other countries outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards — such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (IDTA) or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — so your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.
How long we keep data
- Analytics: retained by the analytics providers per the cookie table above (Google Analytics up to 2 years, Clarity up to 1 year).
- Account data (email, display name, favourites, follows): kept while your account is open. If you delete your account, your email and saved data are erased immediately; an inactive account that is never confirmed is removed automatically.
- Login sessions: expire within 30 days, and immediately when you sign out.
- Play activity & ratings: the pseudonymised daily code on signed-out play events is deleted within 7 days; after that only aggregate daily counts remain. Your ratings and recently-played history are kept while your account is open and erased when you delete it.
- Email-consent & unsubscribe records: after you unsubscribe or delete your account we keep only a one-way hashed form of your email (never the address itself) so we can honour your opt-out and not email you again.
Your rights
Under UK/EU GDPR (and, where they apply, US state laws) you can ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, and to object to processing. You can:
- Delete your account yourself at any time from your account preferences (this erases your email and saved data).
- Withdraw consent for the weekly email at any time by unsubscribing — withdrawing is as easy as giving it.
- Change your email address by deleting the account and signing up again (we don’t support in-place email changes).
- Contact us at privacy@slotspod.com for any other request.
If you’re in the UK and think we’ve mishandled your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), though we’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links to casinos and bonuses are affiliate links (including our cloaked
/offer/ redirects). If you sign up or play through them, we may earn a commission at no extra
cost to you, and the destination site may record that you arrived from SlotsPod. This never affects our
reviews — see how we work on our About page.
Children
SlotsPod is strictly for adults aged 18 or over. Our content is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you ever feel gambling is becoming a problem, please visit our responsible gambling guide or GambleAware.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. We’ll revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
